PROJECT 3

PERCY STREET Charleston, SC

Built in 1880, this Charleston Single had crazy character from the moment we walked through - we knew it would be a unique beauty. We worked with the talented team at Flyway Construction & Restoration this time around... yes, sadly Kate has hung up her contractor boots for now. Our clients from Brooklyn wanted their Charleston home to have a California bungalow feeling, with a nod to the home's historic Southern beauty. Some big power moves on this one were blowing out the fireplace that sat in between the kitchen and dining room to open everything up, and matching the transom there to the originals in the house. We even found the Dining Room chandelier while we were traveling through Buenos Aires for a passion project to Antarctica, inevitably having to drag that light all the way down to the bottom of the world and back again. On the subject of lights, we used some beautiful sconces by our good friends Workstead in the Living Room and Master Bedroom. All Photos by Olivia Rae James
